Will Menstruation Change my Results?

The recommendation is to always scan in the same phase of the menstrual cycle

It’s important to be consistent with when you complete your Evolt 360 scans during the menstrual cycle. Hormonal changes can affect how much water your body holds, which may impact scan results.

The two main hormones involved—estrogen and progesterone—influence body water in different ways. Earlier in the cycle, higher estrogen levels can cause the body to hold onto more fluid. Later in the cycle, progesterone rises and may help release some fluid, but overall hydration levels can still change from week to week.

To reduce these natural variations and support more consistent tracking, it’s recommended to scan during the same phase of your menstrual cycle each time (for example, always during the follicular phase or always during the luteal phase), and within the same few days of that phase each cycle.

Why this matters for BIA:
The Evolt 360 uses Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA), which relies on the body’s water content to calculate body composition—consistent hydration helps ensure accurate and comparable results over time.
