Guidelines for the best scan accuracy

In accordance with the published literature, to ensure a reliable and repeatable scan, it is imperative to standardize the scanning conditions every time the user scans. This is the same for any body composition technology, whether it be DEXA or BIA.

It is important not to compare scans tested at different times of the day, i.e. in the morning vs in the evening. It is also very important not to compare different brands of BIA technology as the algorithms are unique to each brand and some do not use the necessary 5 factors required to produce a reliable and repeatable scan.

There are a number of factors that can influence the results, please watch this series of videos to learn how to get the most accurate scans with your clients.
